Research and development

MATEX PM has set up their own research and development department for the laser technology applications. Thus, we are able to respond quickly to the customers’ needs and we have all the technological procedures under control.

Our company actively participates in a couple of funded research projects (grants) in the area of new laser technologies. In the past, we have successfully completed a number of projects aimed at:

• Laser beam surface modifications

• Clearer understanding of the laser surface hardening process, in particular of gear wheels

• Laser welding and assessing the properties of welded joints of modern steel types

• Laser cladding and assessing the properties of laser-clad layers

• Hybrid laser technologies
